Lebanon, New Hampshire Lebanon Opera House

The Opera House is located within the Lebanon City Hall building. In 1975 and 1986 the City Hall and Opera House underwent major renovation projects. The renovations brought live theater back to the Upper Valley; igniting interest in local arts and theater. Pre-Broadway shows hit the stage.

The Opera House played a big roll in the Upper Valley community as the main venue for community groups, municipal meetings, school arts and theater programs as well as larger on stage productions.

The Lebanon Opera House Improvement Corporation was established in 1991 as a non-profit organization. The purpose of the group was to focus on the Opera House being a multiple use community resource, not only for Lebanon, but for the entire Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. To define the best use for the building and how to manage the facility.

Highlighting the transformation, the Lebanon Opera House began as a meeting house, then became a movie house before transforming into its current form, a performing arts facility.
